The Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Austria, H.E. Sheikh / Ali bin Jassim Al Thani, met with the Director General of the Department of Culture and Arts of the Austrian Chancellery, H.E. Ambassador Jürgen Mendel, where they exchanged views on bilateral relations between the State of Qatar and the Republic of Austria, especially to develop cooperation ties in various cultural and artistic fields between the two friendly countries.

The State of Qatar took part in the third international symposium to discuss ways to strengthen international efforts to reduce highly enriched uranium in the civilian nuclear sector around the world. The symposium was organized by the Norwegian government in Oslo, in cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

Qatar's ambassador to Austria Sheikh Ali bin Jassim al-Thani on Wednesday chairs the delegation of the State of Qatar to the 39th meeting of the Ministerial Council of the OPEC Fund for International Development (OFID), which concluded its work in Vienna on Thursday 21/6/2018.

The State of Qatar has delivered the third installment of its contribution to the financing of the World Program for the Implementation of the Doha Declaration, which is being implemented in cooperation between the State of Qatar and the United Nations for a period of five years (2016-2020). H.E. Ambassador Sheikh/ Ali bin Jassim Al Thani, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Republic of Austria and Permanent Representative to the United Nations and international organizations in Vienna, delivered this contribution during a meeting with H.E. Mr. John Brandolino, Director of the Division for Treaty Affairs of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime in Vienna.

E President of Austria National Council (parliament) Wolfgang Sobotka met here on Thursday with HE Qatar's Ambassador to Austria Sheikh Ali bin Jassim Al-Thani. During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations and means to bolster them in addition to a number of topics of mutual interest.

Sheikh /Ali Bin Jassim Al Thani, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Republic of Austria and Permanent Representative to the United Nations Organizations in Vienna, hosted a breakfast banquet on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, attended by senior officials from politicians, diplomats, parliamentarians and heads of international and regional organizations accredited in Vienna.

H.E. Sheikh / Ali Bin Jassim Al Thani, Qatar's Ambassador to the Republic of Austria and Permanent Representative to the UN Organizations in Vienna, participated in an international symposium held in Brussels entitled "Towards a Nuclear Test-Free World: Meeting the Commitments".

H.E. Sheikh / Ali Bin Jassim Al Thani, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Republic of Austria and Permanent Representative to the United Nations Organizations in Vienna, met with H.E. Mr. Li Yung, Director General of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and discuss how to benefit from the Organization's programs in the areas of industrial development and technical cooperation, particularly in the food and energy industries.

H.E. Sheikh / Ali Bin Jassim Al Thani, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Austria, met with H.E. Dr. Reinhold Lopatka, Vice-Chairman of the Austrian Federal Parliament's Foreign Relations Committee, and H.E. Andreas Schieder, Chairman of the Socialist Bloc in Parliament.

Senior officials of the United Nations Office at Vienna announced that the World Program for the Implementation of the Doha Declaration had achieved outstanding successes in the service of mankind by launching long-term initiatives to combat corruption and terrorism and achieve sustainable development goals.
