Qatar Calls for Harnessing Nuclear Technologies in All Peaceful Fields

The State of Qatar has underlined the importance of applying the highest standards of nuclear safety by the State that establishes nuclear facilities in accordance with the IAEA's approved work plan and take measures to develop contingency plans for a possible nuclear accident and ensure the implementation of preventive measures for facility personnel, the civilians and the preservation of the environment, so as to ensure the development of technologies for the safe use of nuclear energy.



The State of Qatar calls for doubling international efforts to reach a drug-free world and reiterates its commitment to the implementation of relevant international conventions

In a statement at the Ministerial Segment of the sixty-second session of the United Nations Commission on Narcotic Drugs held in Vienna, the Acting Permanent Mission of the State of Qatar to the International Organizations, Mr. Abdullah Bin Nasser Al-Fuhaid Al-Hajri, said that the State of Qatar was proud of its record in the fight against drugs. A comprehensive, integrated and balanced strategy, supervised by the National Committee for Combating Drugs, chaired by His Excellency the Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior. This strategy focuses on prevention, protection of the community, law enforcement, and attention to drug victims and the involvement of the health, social and economic sectors. Secretary General of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) commends Qatar's strong record in cooperation with international organizations

The Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Austria and the Permanent Representative to the United Nations and International Organizations met in Vienna with H.E. Thomas Greminger, Secretary-General of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), and spoke about the State of Qatar joining the Organization as a cooperative partner within Asian Group Given the importance of the Organization's mechanisms and tools for Asian countries to meet the challenges of cross-border security, the challenges of sustainable development, and environmental challenges, as well as issues of education, youth empowerment, counter-terrorism and extremism.



Qatar's ambassador to Vienna meets with senior international official in combating cybercrime, money laundering and terrorist financing

H.E. Sheikh / Ali Bin Jassim Al-Thani, Permanent Representative of the State of Qatar to the United Nations and international organizations met in Vienna with H.E. Mr. Neil Walsh, Head of the Division of Cybercrime, Money Laundering and Terrorism Financing at the United Nations Office at Vienna on Drugs and Crime. Discussions were concentrated on strengthening relationships between the State of Qatar and the United Nations in the field of combating cybercrime.
