Discuss ways to enhance economic cooperation between the State of Qatar and the Republic of Austria

The Chargé d'affaires of the Embassy of the State of Qatar to the Republic of Austria Mr. Abdullah Bin Nasser Al-Fuhaid Al-Hajri, met with the Deputy Chairman of the Austrian Economic Chamber, HE Dr. Richard Chantas, and discussed means of enhancing economic cooperation between the two friendly countries.

The Charge d'Affaires praised the progress made by Austria in the field of trade and the Austrian exports exceeded 150 billion Euros in 2018 for the first time in the history of the country. He pointed out Qatar's desire to benefit from this positive development and support the economic cooperation between the two countries within the framework of Qatar is moving to diversify its investments and open up new markets.

He stressed that in view of the current development of the Austrian economy, it is necessary to expedite the conclusion and activation of the memorandum of understanding between the State of Qatar and the Republic of Austria in the economic field and in the interests of the peoples of the two countries.

For his part, the Deputy Chairman of the Austrian Economic Chamber, HE Dr. Richard Chants, praised the Qatari market is one of the most important commercial markets in the Gulf region and the Middle East, and offers a great opportunities and prospects for Austrian companies.

The two sides agreed at the end of the meeting on the importance of continuing meetings and contacts between officials in the State of Qatar and the Republic of Austria, thus contributing to the development of prospects for economic cooperation between the two friendly countries.
