Sheikh Ali bin Jassim Al-Thani chairs the delegation of the State of Qatar to the meeting of the Ministerial Council of the OPEC Fund for International Development in Vienna

Qatar's ambassador to Austria Sheikh Ali bin Jassim al-Thani on Wednesday chairs the delegation of the State of Qatar to the 39th meeting of the Ministerial Council of the OPEC Fund for International Development (OFID), which concluded its work in Vienna on Thursday 21/6/2018.
The State of Qatar, which is among the largest shareholders in the OPEC Fund, has always affirmed its keenness to support the activities of the Fund and to enhance its role in the service of development in all countries, especially the poor.
The Fund is an intergovernmental financing institution established by the member states of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries in 1976 to strengthen financial cooperation among OPEC member countries and other developing countries and to promote South-South partnership and developing countries with a view to eradicating poverty.
The OFID Ministerial Council, which includes the finance ministers of the member states of OPEC, reviewed at its meeting in Vienna the Fund's lending policies, its role in achieving sustainable development, eradicating poverty and curbing the spread of epidemics in developing countries, and resulted in the appointment of a new Director General.
