The United Nations commends the achievements of the Doha Declaration Global Program in the service of humanity by launching initiatives to combat corruption, terrorism and achieve sustainable development
Senior officials of the United Nations Office at Vienna announced that the World Program for the Implementation of the Doha Declaration had achieved outstanding successes in the service of mankind by launching long-term initiatives to combat corruption and terrorism and achieve sustainable development goals.

The Declaration was made at a meeting of the Follow-up Committee for the Implementation of the World Program for the Doha Declaration on the sidelines of the 27th session of the Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice, which was held in Vienna at the present time. His Excellency Mr. John Brandolino, Director of the Conventions Department at the United Nations Office at Vienna, Mr. Dimitri Vlassis, Head of the Anti-Corruption Section of the Office, and Mr. Oliver Stolpe, Operations Officer for the implementation of the Global Program, said that, although only two years had passed since the launch of the program, Judicial data all over the world to maintain the highest standards of integrity and independence, and building public confidence in the judicial institutions.

In reviewing the achievements of the global program, United Nations officials referred to the rehabilitation and reintegration of prisoners, the promotion of a legal culture among children and young people through sport, the integration of crime prevention, criminal justice and the rule of law aspects into the education system, access to more than 14,000 owners in more than 180 countries directly, 23 countries receiving direct and targeted technical assistance, and assisting more than 5,400 stakeholders from 167 countries in capacity-building.

They also mentioned that over the past two years, the Global Program has held more than 60 international events, such as workshops, expert group meetings, training events, conferences and product launches developed by its dedicated team.

They identified another service provided by the Global Program, a United Nations model manual on crime prevention, criminal justice and other aspects of the rule of law, cooperation with non-governmental and educational institutions to develop non-electronic games on these issues and readiness to launch a new mobile application on integrity later this year.

In their interventions during the meeting, they addressed the issue of international recognition of the importance of these initiatives in many areas. In this regard, they referred to the United Nations Human Rights Council expressing its great appreciation for the capacity-building activities and specialized curricula developed by the World Program, and the welcome of  the Secretary-General of the United Nations and the Conference of the States Parties to the United Nations Convention against Corruption to work under this program, while the Executive Director of the United Nations Office at Vienna, Yuri Fedotov, considered the global program as an important catalyst and resource to assist Member States in achieving the objectives of sustainable development.

For his part, H.E. Major General Dr. Abdullah Al-Mal, Chairman of the Follow-up Committee for the World Program for the Doha Declaration, praised the distinguished efforts of the United Nations to achieve the objectives of the Program in addressing transnational organized crime and building effective, fair, humane, accountable criminal justice systems and sustainable development. He also referred to the recent activities of the World Program, notably the organization of the Conference of Senior Judges and Chiefs of Supreme Courts held in Vienna on 9 April 2018, which culminated in the launch of the Global Network for Integrity of the Judiciary and the launching of a unique educational program that strengthens the relationship between education Crime Prevention, in cooperation with UNESCO, includes educational courses and textbooks for different stages of education on global citizenship, the prevention of violent extremism and the achievement of sustainable development goals through education.
