In a statement to the session of the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency in Vienna, The State of Qatar calls on the Agency to assist Member States in building research reactors to benefit from the peaceful uses of nuclear energy
The State of Qatar called on the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to intensify its efforts in assisting Member States to build research reactors in order to develop their capabilities and contributions, to benefit from the peaceful uses of nuclear energy and to accelerate the objectives of the sustainable development plan.
In a statement delivered by HE Sheikh Ali Bin Jassim Al-Thani, Permanent Representative of the State of Qatar to the United Nations and international organizations in Vienna, to the session of the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in Vienna on the Nuclear Technology Review of 2018, Developing laboratories and research laboratories in Saipersdorf to enable them to build their capacities and meet social and economic challenges.
The State of Qatar also called upon Member States to support the modernization of the Cybersdorf laboratories, in view of the importance of these laboratories in terms of their courses and research in assisting developing countries to build their capacities and meet social and economic challenges.
HE Sheikh Ali bin Jassem Al-Thani addressed Qatar's national plans and adopted the option of nuclear energy as part of the energy mix in the future and as an essential engine for sustainable development, stressing its determination to provide the necessary infrastructure and develop national scientific competencies to achieve these goals. And the organizational structure that allows the construction of a technical scientific base in the field of power generation and in medical, industrial, agricultural, environmental and other applications.
