The State of Qatar also thanked the Director General of the Agency, Mr. Yukiya Amano, for organizing a training course in Doha last month whose main objective was to enhance the knowledge, expertise and skills of those working in facilities and facilities dealing with radioactive sources in order to develop their ability to protect nuclear materials and develop national awareness In the fields of nuclear safety. The course included more than 50 participants from various state institutions working in the field of radiation protection, including private companies.
With regard to nuclear safety standards, the State of Qatar stressed the importance of implementing these standards at their highest levels, since they can play an effective role only through the collective cooperation of all Member States with the IAEA in order to provide the highest levels of safety in nuclear installations and in accordance with the guidelines adopted by the Agency In this area in order to achieve effective control over emergencies in a timely manner.
