President of the Republic of Austria, Alexander van der Belen, held an annual reception in honor of the heads of diplomatic missions accredited in Vienna, including His Excellency Sheikh Ali Bin Jassim Al-Thani, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Republic of Austria and its Permanent Representative to the UN Organizations in Vienna. Conveyed the greetings of His Highness the Amir to the Austrian President and people on the occasion of the New Year.
In a speech on the occasion, the Austrian president stressed the importance of dialogue to end wars and settle disputes through mutual readiness for dialogue and multilateral cooperation. He said that the international community still faces a great challenge to find a political solution to the ongoing conflicts in the Middle East for decades. In particular, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, explaining that the absence of political will continues to impede a solution to this conflict.
