Qatar National Day 2018: Qatar continues to build a modern state open to the world

HE Sheikh Ali Bin Jassem Al Thani, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Republic of Austria and Permanent Representative to the United Nations Organizations in Vienna, held a grand ceremony on the occasion of the National Day of the country. The ceremony was marked by the presence of former Austrian President Dr. Heinz Fischer.
The ceremony, which was held at the historic Nieder Ostrich Palace in central Vienna, was attended by senior officials of the Austrian government and the United Nations organizations in Vienna, led by the Head of the Protocol Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Ano Drovenek, and former Defense Minister Herbert Sheibner , The Executive Secretary of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO), HE Mr. Lassina Zerbo, the Head of the Anti-Corruption and Economic Crime Department of the United Nations Office at Vienna, HE Mr. Dimitri Vlasis, the Deputy Director-General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Mr. Aldo Malafazi, General of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) HE Mr. Mohamed Barkindo, Director General of the OPEC Fund for International Development HE Mr. Sulaiman Al-Harbash, Arab and Foreign Ambassadors accredited to Austria, heads of the GCC and Arab League missions in Vienna, senior diplomats and staff members of UN organizations
This evening was marked by the national and Austrian national anthems, and a review of original Qatari art.
In a speech on this occasion, the Qatari Ambassador to Austria congratulated His Highness Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani, the Emir of Qatar, and His Highness the Emir Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al-Thani on the National Day and the Qatari people. Today is an important occasion to confirm the people's encirclement of his leadership and glorification of the founder who devoted his effort and his idea to establish a modern Qatar, which has now become, thanks to its wise leadership, a modern state with a distinguished place among developed and civilized countries.
HE Sheikh Ali bin Jassem Al Thani expressed his satisfaction with the excellent relations between the State of Qatar and the Republic of Austria and looked forward to furthering these relations to better levels in the future especially in the economic and cultural fields. In 1878 Sheikh Jassem Bin Mohammed Bin Thani unified the tribes and founded the modern state of Qatar.
