Qatar's Ambassador to Vienna discusses with the Director of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) how to Increase Technical Cooperation and Partnership between the State of Qatar and UNIDO

H.E. Sheikh / Ali Bin Jassim Al Thani, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Republic of Austria and Permanent Representative to the United Nations Organizations in Vienna, met with H.E. Mr. Li Yung, Director General of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and discuss how to benefit from the Organization's programs in the areas of industrial development and technical cooperation, particularly in the food and energy industries.
During the meeting, the ambassador affirmed Qatar's support for the goals of the United Nations agenda for sustainable development 2020 and 2030, especially UNIDO's efforts to achieve these goals, and the State of Qatar is keen to participate effectively in meetings of decision-making bodies of the Organization with high-level delegations from the Ministry of Energy and Industry to promote technical cooperation and partnership between the State of Qatar and UNIDO.
H.E. said that the State of Qatar is considering the possibility of establishing a center specialized in the development and upgrading of the quality of the Qatari industrial products, in cooperation with the Gulf Organization for Industrial Consulting (GOIC), which is expected to be completed by the end of this year, calling on the organization to provide the necessary technical assistance in this regard.
During the meeting, H.E. Sheikh / Ali bin Jassim Al Thani expressed Qatar's appreciation for the efforts made by the Director General of UNIDO to restructure the Organization in order to develop its work and help it fulfill its role, especially in the current financial circumstances.
